This album was my (ignoble) attempt at discovering my own idea of womanhood. Identifying as a woman never has been and never will be easy. Not only is being a woman difficult, but truly being an adult woman with responsibilities is difficult. For the longest time I tried (and am still trying) to figure out what, exactly, my own idea of womanhood for myself is. It is certainly NOT a bat mitzvah and a boyfriend. Through the lens of the ancient poetry I've grown to love very deeply, I learn about the things that have made me strong, but also about the things that keep me teetering on the line between a girl and a grown-ass adult lady.

It's an amazing album, with a brilliant 60s Rock feel running through it, although I don't think you can put it in one single genre. The music is very intricate, and I love the little details that you can hear, like Dan's fingers brushing along the strings of his guitar. Little things like that add up to make an amazing sound. Trying Not To Hide is probably my favourite of all of Dan's songs, it is utterly beautiful. RobbieHumbucker
